Jo Budd is a leading contemporary British textile artist whose work crosses boundaries between Fine Art, Textiles, Quilt making and Embroidery. With an exhibiting career spanning over 30 years, her work is in international collections including the V&A Museum, International Quilt Study Centre, Nebraska, US, Quilt Museum and Gallery, York, and the Embroiderer’s Guild UK.

In 2010 the V&A Museum purchased Male/Winter, described as “strikingly beautiful” (Guardian), detail opposite, which was commissioned for Quilts 1700 – 2010. (see V&A video and blog).

Jo undertakes public commissions and has been a visiting and part-time lecturer and external assessor, at colleges throughout the UK. She teaches short courses at West Dean College Sussex, and gives lectures and workshops to independent groups.

Working from her Suffolk studio she holds Open Studios annually and is creating a new body of work; Weather and Water for exhibition this year.
